2017 State Qualifier

The 2017 State Qualifier is finally here. Pomona HS is a Region 3 CHSAA school and our State Qualifier will be held over two days at George Washington HS in Denver. Please make sure you’re aware of which day you need to compete and if you have any questions please contact your coach immediately!

Please note that even if you are only scheduled to present on Friday you must show up on Saturday to receive an award if you make it. If you cannot make the awards ceremony on Saturday please inform your coach so that we ensure that your award is collected. If you qualify at State you will be automatically qualified and registered for the State Tournament.

March 13, 2015 

Congress National Qualifier

Our first National Qualifier event is here and our Pomona students are ready! We have (2) pieces of legislation that will be introduced which should give us a fighting chance against the other competing schools. This tournament will be held over the course of (2) days and all students competing must attend both days.

Additional Information

Registration will be in the Jury Assemly Room. This is different from last year. It is on the first floor of the court side of the building, toward the end of a hallway.

The security scanners close down around 5:00pm. Depending on when you arrive, you might have to go through a security check. We shouldn’t have any security check on Saturday.

On Saturday, Morning session is 9:00-12:00. Afternoon session is 1:00-4:00. Awards will be around 4:30 (as soon as we can get them calculated).

Weather Contingency

If the snow accumulation on Wednesday and Thursday is sufficient to cause closure of schools in our participating districts or cancellation of Friday after-school activities by those districts, then we will reschedule the Friday portion of the tournament in consultation with our Region 3 Planning Committee and CHSAA. If schools remain open and Friday after-school activities are not cancelled, we will adjust the Friday schedule as needed to accommodate teams who face hardships traveling to the host site. In no event will we start rounds on Friday later than 5:00 pm. Based on the current forecast, we do not see a likelihood of needing to reschedule the Saturday portion of the tournament, but we will adjust this policy should conditions change. Any inclement weather updates will be posted on Speechmeets.com and communicated by e-mail to ALL coaches.
